My first pillow

Several weeks ago, my Mom gave me a tee shirt that she purchased in Japan many years ago and asked if I could do anything with it.

I thought the graphic on it would be nice as the center of a pillow. This is what I came up with:

I added interfacing to the tee shirt to limit stretching, then fussy cut the part of the shirt that I wanted. I added quilter's linen in pink for the inner border. The outer border is called "Tweedy", but I can't remember who makes it. I forgot to take a photo of the back. The back is more Tweedy, with an edge of the pink quilter's linen along the overlapping closure.

My Mom loves the pillow and it goes very well with her black and white decor.

What a great way to use the tee-shirt. It looks fabulous! No wonder your mom loves it. I've been saving my daughter's favorite tee shirts to create a tee shirt quilt some day.
